Anjali Durjan was born in Manhattan, New York, and grew up in Brooklyn, where she began dancing at the age of two. She was a member of a competitive dance team through the age of 18, developing a strong foundation and passion for dance from an early age. Anjali went on to attend Binghamton University, where she received a B.A. in Architectural Studies and Dance. During her time at Binghamton, she performed in multiple main-stage productions, including Jazz Nutcracker, Encounters, and Pandemonium. She also served as a Teaching Assistant for Modern Dance, beginning her first year and continuing through her senior year. While at Binghamton, Anjali joined the university’s dance club company, Evolution Dance Company, where she eventually became the Modern 3 Advanced Choreographer. In this role, she independently choreographed works for the company and led dance workshops, further developing her skills as both a dancer and educator. Outside of the university setting, Anjali continues to deepen her love and dedication to dance by taking professional classes throughout New York City. She was also accepted into the Paul Taylor Summer Intensive, where she further expanded her training and deepened her appreciation for modern dance and ballet. Anjali’s training spans a variety of styles, including modern, ballet, jazz, contemporary, and pointe, as well as Pilates. As an instructor, she hopes to share her knowledge, creativity, and passion for dance with the next generation of dancers, inspiring young students to build confidence, express themselves, and develop a lifelong love for movement.
